The Deputy Chief Radiographer is responsible for supporting the operational leadership of the medical imaging department, with a primary focus on workforce coordination, staff rostering, and people management. This role ensures appropriate staffing levels are maintained balancing resourcing with clinical demand while supporting staff wellbeing, professional development, and team performance. The Deputy Chief Radiographer works closely with the Chief Radiographer and senior clinicians to implement efficient rostering practices, manage leave planning, and address day-to-day staffing challenges. Additionally, the role contributes to a positive workplace culture by fostering open communication, supporting staff engagement, and promoting high standards of professional conduct and collaboration across the department.

    Selection Criteria
  1. Undergraduate qualification in Medical Radiation Science or equivalent with current AHPRA (MRPBA) membership & current EPA Radiation License
  2. Demonstrated experience in management to enhance staff performance, influence workplace culture, and lead change
  3. Extensive knowledge of Human Resources Information Systems including but not limited to: Stafflink, PAT (Staff Appraisals), Recruitment & Onboarding (ROB) and HealthRoster programs
  4. Demonstrated experience in developing and managing staff rosters that align with operational requirements, while maintaining compliance with bugetary constraints and relevant policies and legislation
  5. Demonstrated high level analytical and problem solving skills including experience in the preparation of Medical Imaging performance data as required
  6. Demonstrated experience in workforce planning and evaluation within a high volume dynamic work environment
  7. Highly developed and effective written and oral communication skills
  8. Extensive experience at a Senior Radiographer or acting Deputy Chief level
