Gosford Hospital is looking for a dynamic and results-driven Aboriginal Health Equity Program Manager. About the Role

This position is located on the Central Coast and operates Monday to Friday, from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. The role involves leading an Aboriginal team dedicated to supporting Aboriginal kids 1 to 5 years of age and their families in the region. 

As the Aboriginal Health Equity Program Manager, you will work with teams and leaders across the Aboriginal Health Directorate to support fair and inclusive healthcare. You will lead projects and programs that improve services for Aboriginal people and other priority groups.
 
The Manager leads departmental and cross-functional teams through all aspects of the development and implementation of a new and innovative approach to addressing health inequity for Aboriginal children and families. As a driver of change, they help build a culture focused on delivering fair, high-quality care for the most vulnerable in our community.
 
This role requires strong knowledge of local, state, national, and international health trends, policies, and models to identify opportunities for improving equitable care and keeping up with modern healthcare practices and community needs.
 
The Manager will lead cross-directorate teams to develop and implement new approaches to equitable care, focusing on improving performance and patient experience. They will also provide coaching and guidance to enhance efficiency, quality, and care outcomes.

About You

  • You identify as an Aboriginal person and understand that this is an Aboriginal Identified position under Section 14(d) of the NSW Anti-Discrimination Act 1977. You are actively involved with the local Aboriginal community (or other Aboriginal communities where you have lived) and am committed to supporting and advocating for Aboriginal health and wellbeing.
  • You hold a degree qualification in Business, Health Service Management or in a health-related discipline, and/or demonstrated extensive experience in a senior role leading health related service design and implementation projects.
  • You have extensive experience in designing, implementing, and evaluating innovative approaches to address the needs of vulnerable Aboriginal populations. You have experience in developing and executing strategic plans that align with business goals, meet reporting requirements, and deliver measurable outcomes. You are also highly effective in a dynamic, fast-paced team environment, with a strong ability to manage competing priorities and adapt to change.
